• From October 26 to 28, activities will be carried out within the framework of the State Maximum Scientific Knowledge Forum

Morelia, Michoacan, October 26, 2022. – With more than 1,500 participants, 75 educational institutions participating and more than 800 research works, the State Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation, in its 17th edition, began.

During the opening ceremony, the Director-General of the Michoacan State Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation (ICTI), Alejandra Ochoa Zarzoza, highlighted that this edition was organized from the perspective of equity, equality and non-discrimination.

In his participation, the Secretary General of the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH), Pedro Mata Vázquez, acknowledged the institutional support of ICTI

To strengthen the scientific community and contribute to building knowledge.

On behalf of Governor Alfredo Ramirez Pedulla, the Director of the Institute of Higher and Secondary Education of the State of Michoacan, Mariana Sosa Olmeda, announced the opening of activities and highlighted the importance of transforming Michoacan through science and technology to achieve progress and development that currently constitutes the main demand of society.

The event was chaired by the Head of the Integrated Development of the Family (DIF) System, Michoacan, Grisel Tello Pimentel, who congratulated the ICT for the outreach, communication and promotion work that made it possible to learn about advances in science.

Within the framework of the conference, which is considered the main forum of the scientific world of the entity, State Prizes for Science, Technology and Innovation were awarded to researchers and work teams whose careers made the entity famous. Here are five prizes:

– State Prize of Science for Maria Isabel Ramirez Ramirez.
– State Prize for Science by Alfredo Raya Montaño.
– State Technical Award for Victor Manuel Ruiz Garcia.
State Publication Award to Salvador Garcia Espinosa.
State Liaison Award of the Mexican Society of Psychology and Community Development.
