Atletico Mineiro’s top scorer, Brazilian international Hulk, claimed responsibility for missing a penalty against Palmeiras (0-0) in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores semifinal on Tuesday in Sao Paulo.

“We could have gone away with a win. I was the main culprit for not winning because we lost the penalty, but now we have to focus (…) on achieving the goal, which is the end of Libertadores,” the game said.

Scorer Calo In the South American tournament, with seven goals and three less than the highest scorers, his teammate Gabriel Barboza ‘Coffee Cole’ from Flamingo highlighted the Hulk’s team’s game and hoped they could qualify for next week’s Belo Horizonte.

“We are happy with the football we offer, even though we are aware of the difficulties in playing with Palmeira here,” he said.

At home “we hope to play a great game and take advantage of opportunities,” he said.

The Brazilian teams will meet next Tuesday (19:30 from Ecuador) in Belo Horizonte. The winner will face the winner of the key between Flamenco (BRA) and Barcelona (ECU), who will play his first match on Wednesday in Rio de Janeiro. (D)
