With many countries in the region surviving on remittances from their diaspora, many Cubans are still unsure about how to send money to Cuba and what the legal options are.

After sanctions against Fincimex and its AIS remittance platform, a new company is leading the way on the island. This is Orbit, a deal with many money transfer platforms to Cuba today.

Last April, the agency updated its list of agencies authorized to send money to Cuba, including four from the United States. We tell you all the details.

At this time, money can be sent to Cuba with Orbit’s administration on the island:

All sites associated with Orbit are “authorized and have all permits to operate within national borders,” the Cuban company told its customers.

Likewise, it has clarified that “Western Union to Cuba only has active service from the United States” and it is recommended to use any of the other alternatives mentioned above depending on the country where the sender is located.

Orbit has given special importance to the platform www.vidaipay.comIt was also promoted by several Cuban banks and the Cuban telecommunications company, Etexa.

If you want to send 100 euros to an MLC card in Cuba, Vidaipay will charge 9.8 euros as a commission. Your beneficiary will get 108.88 USD.

If you want to send 100 USD, the applied fee is 9.12 USD and the total amount payable is 109.12 USD.

Those who have already registered on the site and are having trouble getting a PIN are suggested to contact the agency using the following email address [email protected]

“It only processes and processes money sent from abroad to Cuba through its affiliated companies, and not the other way around,” the company reiterated.

Similarly, they mentioned that deposits made through Orbit’s associated companies will be directly credited to the accounts or cards in the MLC of the beneficiaries and in case of withdrawal, the beneficiary has to claim the same depending on the balance in the bank. Among these.

Another of the remaining options, this time related to Fincimex, is the platform PaymentWhose shipping commissions are slightly higher.
