Puerto Rico Governor Pedro R. Pierluzzi and Ciení Rodríguez Troche, Acting Secretary of the Department of the Family (DF), announced today. This Friday, $5.5 million in economic benefits for back-to-school targeting all families under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program will be released. (TANF). “This grant provides eligible families with a $1,500 incentive to provide their children with the tools they need at the start of the new school year. This is one of the latest announcements made by the governor targeting minors and their families. Last June, it announced $40 million through the Pandemic EBT Summer Program to help families with children attending school and participating in school canteen services. Also recently announced the renovation of 2 GEN Centers in Caye and Naranjito and the launch of a 100 x 35 childcare program, which will affect the entire island with an investment of over $25 million.
