OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma Farm Bureau Insurance (OKFB) is making a final appeal to residents, businesses and community organizations across Oklahoma as its annual Coats for Kids campaign enters its closing weeks. Donations for the initiative will be accepted through Aug. 31, with the goal of ensuring children in all 77 Oklahoma counties receive warm coats before the arrival of colder weather.

The campaign, which began for the second consecutive year in May, has brought together OKFB Insurance agents and community partners to collect new coats for children throughout the state. Following the conclusion of the donation period, the collected coats will be distributed to a partnered school in each of Oklahoma’s 77 counties, helping families prepare for the winter season.

As the deadline approaches, OKFB is encouraging individuals, businesses and community groups to participate in the final days of the campaign. The organization said every contribution can help provide essential winter clothing to children who may otherwise face challenges staying warm during colder months.

“We’ve seen firsthand what Oklahomans can do when they rally around a cause,” said Greg Golden, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Oklahoma Farm Bureau Insurance. “As we close in on the final days of this year’s campaign, we don’t want a single community to miss the chance to help make sure a child stays warm this winter. There’s still time to make a difference, and we just need Oklahomans to act now.”

The campaign reflects OKFB’s broader focus on supporting local communities and addressing needs at the grassroots level. By working with schools and local partners across the state, the initiative aims to ensure resources reach children directly in the communities where they are needed most.

Community members and businesses have multiple ways to participate

With the Aug. 31 deadline nearing, OKFB has outlined several opportunities for those who want to contribute to the campaign. Residents can donate a new coat for a child of any age at any OKFB Insurance office. Financial contributions are also available for those who prefer to support coat purchases through a tax-deductible donation.

Businesses and organizations can further support the effort by becoming sponsors of the initiative. Sponsorship opportunities allow community partners to play a role in expanding the campaign’s reach and helping more children across Oklahoma receive winter clothing.

OKFB emphasized that participation is open to everyone, including members, non-members, businesses and community groups. The organization is encouraging Oklahomans who have not yet contributed to take action before donations officially close.

The Coats for Kids campaign continues to rely on community involvement to meet its goal of serving children statewide. Through donations and partnerships, OKFB hopes to complete another successful campaign and deliver coats to schools before winter temperatures arrive.

As the Aug. 31 cutoff approaches, OKFB is reminding residents that there is still time to make a contribution and help support children throughout Oklahoma.
