Fernando Moreira inaugurated the Municipal Cultural Space in Cárkova

The Mayor of San Martín, Fernando Moreira, has opened the doors of a new municipal cultural space, which will present free proposals to the entire community of Cárcova, Barrio Nuevo and Villa Hidalgo.

“This new center fulfills one of the central goals of our administration, which is to ensure access to culture in all neighborhoods. It is something we have done through high-quality work and a wide range of artistic activities of all kinds,” affirmed the mayor.

He added, “In this way we unite two virtuous policies: a strategic plan for businesses that the state did not go to 12 years ago, and access to free and high-quality cultural proposals for many families who otherwise would not be able to access.”

Located at Combet and Costanera Streets, the new building contains a large multi-purpose room on the ground floor and a similar area on the first floor, classrooms and workshops, and a patio for outdoor activities.

Both the living room and the space on the first floor were connected, in order to conduct classes simultaneously.

In turn, it is entered through an outdoor patio of more than 120 square meters, where all kinds of disciplines can be carried out, especially acrobatic and circus workshops.

The building also contains bathrooms, a kitchen and an administration room on the ground floor, and classrooms for workshops upstairs.

The municipality aims for this cultural space to become a living meeting place for all ages, especially for the social integration of the region’s youth through various activities.

In this sense, it offers painting, drawing, comics, writing, urban dance, music, circus classes and workshops from Monday to Saturday. To find out more and participate, you should call 0351-0028-4830 or by mail at [email protected]

It is located near Plaza Combet, which the municipality is completely renovating with sports fields, a lawn field, a health field and other facilities next to the popular library.

As for the cultural centers, the one in Villa Balestre will also open very soon, located in the historic communication building that the municipality has restored and put to value by building classrooms for workshops, an exhibition hall and a terrace for activities, among other spaces. In addition, in the second phase, a modern hall with stages and dressing rooms will be added.

On the other hand, the Karkova works are part of the strategic plan for the municipal works of the entire neighborhood, through which more than 90% of the dirt streets have already been paved, the sewage network is being built and progress is being made in the construction of a new kindergarten.

In addition, in September 2022, the new Karkova Youth Center opens its doors, a building that has been appreciated and offers cultural, sports and leisure activities for young people from 12 to 21 years old.

As for health, several blocks away, the municipality opened the Barrio Nuevo Post Office at the end of April, as part of the expansion of the primary care network, which already includes 22 places to reach the different neighborhoods with close options.

“This is to improve people’s quality of life, and it is not done from day to day. We have been doing it for 12 years, we are still doing it now and we continue to plan new actions, with a lot of love, desire and conviction, because we understand that it is essential to be close to Those who need it most,” concluded Fernando Moreira.
