The men’s volleyball teams Explorări Baia Mare, SCM Zalău, CSU Braşov and Ştiinţa Bucureşti qualified on Thursday, at the Cluj-Napoca tournament, in the quarterfinals of the Romanian Cup. The final of the competition will take place on Sunday.


The results of the eighth round of the Romanian Cup, in the matches played on Thursday, are: Explorations Baia Mare – Steaua Bucureşti 3-1, Universitatea Cluj – SCM Zalău 0-3, Pro Volei Arad – CSU Braşov 0-3 and UV Timişoara – Ştiinţa Bucureşti 1-3.

Thus, in the quarterfinals, scheduled for Friday, the teams Explorări Baia Mare, SCM Zalău, CSU Braşov and Ştiinţa Bucureşti qualified.

They will face, in order, the first four classified from the last season of Division A, directly classified in the quarterfinals, that is, in Arcada Galaţi, SCM Craiova, Unirea Dej and Dinamo Bucharest.

The semifinals will be played on Friday, between the winners of the quarterfinals, and the final will be played on Sunday.

The holder of the trophy is also the champion of the title, that is, Arcada Galaţi.

The similar women’s tournament will take place between February 18 and 21.
