mespacio Municipalista denounces that the president of the Comarca Comunidad de Teruel has not promoted the creation of the negotiating commission with the banking entities to avoid the closing of branches.

The municipal formation recalls that “these bank branch closures are the consequences of the privatization of savings banks and not having a public bank.”

During the January plenary session, they proposed that the County Council agree to “urge the Government of Aragon to articulate the creation of a public bank” to “guarantee services in rural areas.” However, “the PSOE preferred to defend the privatization of the bank during the debate”, positioning itself in it in the same way as the formations of the right.

For the regional counselor of the Zésar Corella formation “it is essential to create a public bank to maintain open offices and services in the territory, since private companies only carry out their activity based on economic benefit, without considering any factor”.

Likewise, Corella urges the president of the region, Samuel Morón, to “go and pay the pension to the elderly of Pancrudo and its neighborhoods until the private initiative covers it.”

The announcement by Ibercaja of the closure in March of the Pancrudo branch, among others, supposes “aggravating the financial exclusion to which our municipalities are subjected,” they denounce from Espacio Municipalista.
