Espacio 2040 clarifies about the cessation of the director of the Municipality of Canelones

Espacio 2040, a member of the Broad Front (FA), supported the former director of the Canelones Tax Agency, Germán Casavarilla, and clarified the terms of his dismissal.

This sector, headed by the mayor and former interim mayor Yamandú Costa, supported Casavarilla’s work, and considered that the version published by El Observador exposes the accountant to public opinion and misrepresents the facts. It was this morning that affirmed that the mayor Yamandú Orsi dismissed the hierarch when it was he who presented his resignation.

They maintain that false information was leaked to the press and due process was not followed.

CLARIFY THAT:

The Accountant Casaravilla has an impeccable professional career, having been, among other positions, the General Accountant of the Canelones Intendancy in the first and third Frente Amplio administration of the Intendants Marcos Carámbula and Yamandú Orsi, respectively.

At no time did the partner depart from the postulates that govern behavior in public office; nor of the ethical principles that govern our political force.

As he is assigned in his duties and as he does on a daily basis with many Canarian neighbors’ registers, he began the process of regularization of the real estate contribution of Senator Andrade’s register, without granting him any type of facilities that were not covered by decrees in force in the Intendancy.

When his loyalty and professionalism was questioned by the Director of Financial Resources, for not having mentioned him about this management, the Mayor of Canelones is asked for a meeting to present his resignation to the Canary Islands Tax Agency, having received no response. Subsequently, the roles are removed without prior notice from the tax management computer systems.

Today, the Mayor of Canelones contacted Casaravilla by telephone to inform him that he would accept the resignation, which had been presented due to the question of mistrust by the Director of Financial Resources, Cra. Laura Tabarez.

Minutes later, journalists from El Observador called the comrade to explain “his version of events.” It is at that moment that we learned that the Mayor had dismissed the hierarch for irregularities, irregularities that never existed.

WE UNDERSTAND:

Comrade Casaravilla was exposed to public opinion, misrepresenting the facts.

Having leaked data to the press, which is false, due process was not followed.

It is necessary to clarify whether the reports to the press, both of Andrade’s contribution debt and of the alleged dismissal of comrade Casaravilla, came from the Municipality of Canelones. What were the purposes?
