Damage is widespread in cities in Japan's Ishikawa Prefecture after a 7.5-magnitude earthquake hit western Japan on Monday.

Some of the cities affected by the earthquake are:

Wajima City: According to Japanese public broadcaster NHK, the fire department said 25 buildings, including homes, had collapsed and 14 structures were still inhabited. The fire, which started on Monday, is no longer in danger of spreading, but firefighters are still on the scene. According to NHK, about 200 buildings are believed to have burned along Aichi Street, a popular tourist area in Wajima.

Suzu City: According to NHK, officials say at least 53 houses collapsed, a building believed to be a temple was destroyed and nearby cemeteries collapsed. Many ships capsized in the harbor.

Noto Airport: About 500 people are stranded as the terminal is damaged. They are being given food and blankets, but nearby roads have been damaged and they cannot get out, NHK reported. The airport will remain closed until at least Thursday, NHK reported.

City of Kanazawa: At least three houses were damaged in a landslide.

Nano City: Aerial images taken by NHK appear to show several areas with bare mountain surfaces where landslides may have occurred.

Shiga City: Buildings were damaged, including Doki Hospital, where officials said 70 patients had to be evacuated, NHK reported.
