Cubans can keep original documents of procedures at Spanish embassies

He Consulate of Spain in Havana It announced that Cubans attending its offices this Thursday will be able to keep the original documents they submit for their procedures.

“As of 1/22/2024, for all consular procedures, persons who wish to do so may retain their original documents. They should attend their meeting with original documents and their clear photocopies,” they said from their account on social network X.

While diplomatic headquarters did not provide further details about the decision, or whether those who had previously provided the documents would be able to retrieve them, many Cubans celebrated the decision, especially in a context Cuba's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has delayed legalizing the documents.

In March of last year, the Cuban ministry acknowledged the delay in legalizing documents due to increased demand for the service.
