The National Baseball Commission (CNP) announced today the names of the teams that will play in the Cuban Baseball I Elite League.

As a result of a popular poll organized by the site www.beisbolcubano.cu and the mobile application La Pelota, to determine the names of the teams playing in the Cuban Baseball I Elite League, we report that:
. Names of Tobacco Growers (Pinar del Río-Artemisa-Isla de la Juventud), Centrals (Matanzas-Cienfuegos-Villa Clara), Ranchers (Sancti Spíritus- Ciego de Ávila-Camagüey) and Coffee Growers (Santi-Growers)
. Habaneros (Mayabeque-Industriales) and Mineros (Las Tunas-Granma) did not receive more than 50 percent of the vote and were therefore rejected.
. Among the many proposals put forward by those who voted against the latter, porturios (Mayapeque-Industrial) and peasants (Las Dunas-Granma) were chosen.
. We thank all those who responded to our call, including those who helped define the structure of the event, which emerged from a previously organized popular consultation.
. We remind you that the I Cuban Baseball Elite League, which is considered important in the new development strategy of our sport, will have its qualifying phase from October 8 to December 11, 2022. The semi-finals are scheduled from December 17 to 27 and end of January. 7 to 17, 2023.
. The top four teams on the 1st date will qualify for the semi-finals. 4th against. And the 2nd. 3rd against. The winners will debate the championship. It will be seven games to win four in both stages.
