Chile vs Paraguay: The build-up to the friendly match

Chile and Paraguay meet this Tuesday, June 11, in an international friendly. Copa America 2024. La Roja, directed by Ricardo Gareca, will bid farewell to its fans at the Julio Martínez Pradanos National Stadium in Santiago to head to America.

Chile will play only one friendly match on the FIFA date in June, against Paraguay, who drew 1-1 against Peru in Lima. Amid severe economic problems facing Chile's National Association of Professional Football (ANFP), Gareca will be in the starting eleven against Peru at Copa America 2024.

Chile will debut against Peru in Group A of the Copa America 2024.

Along with Chile, two-time U.S. champions Claudio Bravo, Mauricio Isla, Alexis Sanchez and Eduardo Vargas will form Carega's base at the championships. Let's remember that the Argentina coach did not invite two of La Roja's historic players, Gary Medel and Arturo Vidal, to the world's oldest national team's pre-tournament friendlies.
