Cabandié signed agreements with Ghi for sustainable public space and waste management in Morón

The Minister for the Environment and Sustainable Development of the Nation, Juan Cabande, and the Mayor of Morón, Lucas Guy, signed two agreements in the amount of $34.3 million to promote a sustainable public space and urban solid waste management equipment (GIRSU) in the municipality.

In this sense, Kapande said: “We are very pleased that at the end of the year we will have the Plaza Azul or the Flag Monument, as the neighbors call it here, completely renovated using sustainable materials.” In addition, the head of the environmental file stated: “We know it is something that the Mayor of Moron has been promoting for many years, a policy with an environmental focus.”

“With this agreement that we signed, a tender will be opened so that the competitors will start making toys from plastic wood, circuits for bicycles, sockets for charging mobile phones, LED lighting and solar energy,” the minister explained. “This measure will allow to enhance the public space, and create convergence policies for the enjoyment of the residents of the municipality.

The first agreement was concluded under the Common House program and includes the redesign of Plaza Azul, located in the city of Morón in Buenos Aires. Fruit trees will also be planted there and an ecological agricultural garden will be operated.

Later, Kapande visited the recycling center in Moron, where he learned about the work the municipality is doing regarding urban solid waste management. During the activity, the minister said: “This center serves the community to save municipal funds, because what is recycled at the source makes up the income of the urban recyclers who work here.”

In turn, Mayor Guy highlighted the ministry’s permanent work led by Juan Cabande “with all the municipalities of the country” and stated: “Today we signed two agreements, one of which is related to the promotion of public space through the Common House Program managed from the portfolio “Eco Nation”, which proposes intervention and the provision of resources for public spaces from a sustainable perspective.”

In addition, the official referred to the other initiative that is being implemented with the Minister and related to “the gradual integration of electric vehicles” and explained that this measure is part of “one of the central axes of the government’s plan, which is related to urban solid waste management” and added: “This generates Hubs are a guaranteed business of urban recycling, and on the other hand, they are part of a policy based on the circular economy and in line with the concern for the environment.”
