Apple announces the arrival of FaceTime for Android and Windows

Android and Windows users can now make phone calls through FaceTime, Apple officially announced at the event WWDC World Developers Conference.

The company has announced that FaceTime will be available on the Internet so that people can call from their Android devices and computers with the Microsoft operating system.

Note that until now, this video calling function was only available on devices with iOS and Mac.

With this update, it looks like Apple will be converting FaceTime into a video calling service like Zoom.

The tool will now allow you to schedule a call, create a connection and share it with others so they can join the session at the right time.

Although the release date for this is not yet known, it is expected that it will come with iOS 15.

Other improvements

Apple has also announced other FaceTime updates, which may come in the fall. There will be new grid display option, voice isolation feature to improve sound quality, spatial audio support and the ability to blur the background with portrait mode.

Another innovation would be the SharePlay tool, which allows a group to see or hear the same thing at the same time. This way you can share the screen with videos or songs.

Some of the sites that work with this new tool are Disney Plus, Hulu, HBO Max, Twitch, Apple Music and Apple TV.

With this announcement, Apple’s goal is not only to make FaceTime a meeting place, but also a tool for making video calls with acquaintances.
