Amorebieta-Etxano approves law on public places and street vending

One of the main points of the session was the approval of the Public Spaces and Street Vending Law. This is a new regulatory framework that seeks to ensure “the responsible use of common space, to organize the use of public spaces in a more efficient way and to establish the foundations for coexistence on public roads, in order to promote coexistence and accessibility for all Zornotzarras.

• Balcony organization: Reorganization of the hospitality terraces space, adapting to post-pandemic changes and setting simplified schedules for their operation in two periods: from October to May and from June to September.
• Citizen participationThe development of the law has had extensive participation from neighbours and hospitality professionals, reflecting the community’s commitment to improving coexistence.

“It is very important to find a balance between municipal activity and coexistence with the rest of the neighbors.This is why it is essential to regulate the use of public space. “With this approval, the City Council updates the basic regulations to maintain this balance, ensuring the optimal use of public space and the correct implementation of events and activities,” said Agenda 2030 Advisor Esther Torvesco.
