Snapshot, The forerunner of the social networking and facial filter mania for short videos, it has reclaimed one of the oldest and most controversial filters.

Launched in 2013, the filter uses the mobile’s speed sensor to operate at an acceleration meter of miles or kilometers per hour displayed on the screen. According to various reports, Several accidents were caused by drivers using the filter, prompting some of the affected families to sue Snapshot.

According to NPR, The company announced that it had deleted the report “rarely used by Snapshotters”. “In light of that, we’re going to get rid of it completely,” he said. The company has not at any time confirmed that filter removal is involved in many cases. Keep in mind that they themselves are warned when using this filter, its use for co-pilots or other passengers on a motor vehicle, except drivers. However, this warning is not respected by all users.

Before the filter was completely removed, the service reduced the maximum speed limit to 35 mph (56 km / h), but critics say the move was not enough. The company began removing the filter this week, but makes it clear that the process of removing 500 million of the app’s monthly active users could take several weeks.
