The Tenth Peace Court today acquitted former mayor Ernesto Mushond of withholding workers’ income from his farm company Montegrand.

Minutes after he was acquitted of the charge of extortion by a court of law, former mayor Ernesto Mushond read out another arrest warrant from the attorney general’s office for the same crime, but this time he would have solidified it, according to the San Salvador Mayor’s Directorate, the Attorney General’s Office.

In the same case, former legal representative of the aforementioned administration, Francisco Jos ரி Rivera Sacon and former municipal treasurer Fernando Heriberdo Portillo Linares were also arrested.

The attorney general’s office said all three defendants withheld $ 275,145.31 in income tax between June and December 2020. However, the total amount is $ 550,290 with interest and penalties, according to the tax company.

Portillo Linares has another judicial process to suspend labor fees in order to pay more than $ 678,000 to 45 employees of the San Salvador Mayor’s office. He was released last October after issuing a $ 10,000 bond.

“I only ask that the harassment be stopped,” Mushond said, when transferred to a police car, which will be taken to police border guards’ bartolinos, who have been arrested since last Friday when he was arrested for the crime of withholding the income of a family business located in the eastern part of the country.

In the case, the former mayor of the capital held a tenth hearing in the Peace Court yesterday, which acquitted him of $ 50,645.22 after paying off a debt he held in the treasury, which he owed 21 21,000 and fined for failing to pay interest and company rent to the finance ministry, the state prosecutor’s office said.

“Mr Ernesto Mueshond was able to prove this morning that he had defrauded the Republican Treasury by acquiring suspension deposits made in his company in 2018,” a lawyer in the case said.

He added, “He is facing a permanent dismissal as a result of his own lawyers’ demand that he be allowed to pay to enjoy a definite dismissal.”

On June 4, San Salvador’s Second Court of Inquiry charged former San Salvador Mayor Ernesto Mushond with house arrest and the use of an electronic bracelet by the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) for the crimes of illegal groups and fraudulent elections. Organization, but before being taken home in accordance with this action, the police arrested him for another offense related to tax evasion.

“They use evidence, institutions, jurisdictions, and the positions of public officials to harass and blame those who think differently and dare to criticize the government’s brutal decisions,” Moosend denounced after the capture.
