The El Cisne and Villa Mercedes neighborhoods were the first sectors that took part in this event, which seeks to care for and preserve public space, which belongs to everyone.
The District Mayor’s Office, through the Government Secretariat and its Public Space Defense Unit (UDEP), launched the campaign “I also take care of public space”, in the strategy, which began in Locality 1, Cultural Tayrona – San Pedro Alejandrino , the actions that Samarians should take into account to care for and preserve the space that belongs to everyone were socialized, among which are: avoid littering, keep green areas clean, not obstruct the pedestrian crossing and not damage public property.
“Today with the communities of Villa Mercedes, El Cisne and areas surrounding the road to Minca, we began this strategy, to continue generating awareness through the campaign ‘I also take care of public space’, committing the Samarians as managers of the space public, to continue building the city we dream of, creating development. Everyone’s commitment must be to take care of public space and make responsible use of it ”, stated the Secretary of Government, Marcelino K’david.
Leaders and the community in general applauded this initiative that seeks to continue with the change in Santa Marta, taking into account that the participation of all social actors is essential to continue creating transformations in our city.
“This seems like a fabulous project to me because Udep is with the community indicating and remembering that public spaces are to be cared for together, and in turn beautify it,” said Alcira Acuña Zambrano, president of the JAC of the El Cisne neighborhood.
At the end of the activity, the community, through a symbolic act, where they placed their signature, committed to taking care of the public space and being replicators in their sector to protect their environment.
Through this strategy, the Government Secretariat in conjunction with its Udep will continue to reach different sectors of the city, so that all Samarians join these days, becoming change managers; caring for and preserving public space areas, since they are for the benefit and enjoyment of all citizens.
