MIAMI, FL — Jewish Voice for Peace Action has announced endorsements for two Democratic candidates in Florida, backing Angie Nixon in the U.S. Senate race and Oliver Larkin in the contest for Florida’s 25th Congressional District. The organization said the endorsements reflect its continued effort to support candidates who prioritize working families, human rights, and Palestinian rights as part of their political platforms.
The endorsement of Angie Nixon marks the organization’s second-ever Senate endorsement, following its previous support for Abdul El-Sayed. Nixon, a Democratic state representative from Jacksonville, has built her political profile around issues including childcare access, economic fairness, and opposition to policies she argues harm working communities.
Jewish Voice for Peace Action highlighted Nixon’s record in the Florida Legislature, pointing to her efforts to expand childcare access, challenge corporate price-gouging, and oppose redistricting policies implemented under Governor Ron DeSantis. The group also cited Nixon’s introduction of a ceasefire resolution in the Florida State Legislature in November 2023, a move that drew criticism from some colleagues.

Angie is a champion for working families, and outspoken and unwavering in her work to end U.S. military support to the Israeli government and to stop the genocide. As a senator, she will merge the fights for working class families here in the U.S. with the struggle for Palestinian freedom and a just foreign policy,” said Beth Miller, Political Director of JVP Action.
Oliver Larkin Receives Congressional Endorsement for FL-25 Race
Alongside Nixon’s Senate endorsement, Jewish Voice for Peace Action also announced support for Oliver Larkin, an activist and union organizer seeking to represent Florida’s 25th Congressional District.
Larkin has positioned his campaign around issues affecting working families in South Florida, including climate change, water privatization, racial justice, immigrant community protections, and Palestinian rights. Jewish Voice for Peace Action said his campaign aligns with the organization’s focus on connecting domestic economic issues with broader foreign policy concerns.
The group described Larkin as a candidate who has been involved in multiple progressive movements and said his congressional campaign emphasizes human rights-based policies and opposition to military support for Israel.
“In Congress, Oliver will be an unapologetic and bold voice for Palestinian freedom. He’s calling for an end to U.S. military funding to Israel, an arms embargo, and to protect the rights of the Palestinian rights movement in the U.S. He believes that a just foreign policy that centers human rights is intrinsically linked with our fight against fascism here at home,” said Miller.
The endorsements come as progressive political organizations continue to increase their involvement in congressional races across the country. Jewish Voice for Peace Action said its latest endorsements build on a broader effort to support candidates who include Palestinian rights among their campaign priorities.
The organization pointed to recent electoral results in Michigan as part of its growing list of political victories. According to the group, Tuesday’s progressive wins brought its tally to eight Congressional victories among candidates it has supported in races across the country.
Those candidates include Rev. Frederick Douglass Haynes III (TX-30), Adam Hamawy (NJ-12), Chris Rabb (PA-03), Claire Valdez (NY-07), Darializa Avila Chevalier (NY-13), and Melat Kiros (CO-01).
Jewish Voice for Peace Action said the Florida endorsements represent part of its broader strategy to support candidates who combine domestic policy priorities with positions on international issues, particularly those related to U.S. foreign policy and human rights. The group’s backing of Nixon and Larkin places both candidates among a growing number of progressive figures seeking congressional office with support from national advocacy organizations.
