President Luis Abinadar yesterday launched the second phase of the Santo Domingo Tourism Development Project, a colonial city, during an event that included a tour of various places in this historic area.
“We are carrying out a number of projects necessary for the economic restart of the country. The time has come for the colonial city.”
Together with the Ministry of Tourism and the Office of the National District Mayor, the President promised that “we are going to make this the best colonial city in all of Latin America.”
The project is scheduled to run over a six-year period, with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) providing $ 90 million in funding, with $ 30 million used in the first phase.
This realization is the responsibility of the Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Office of the Mayor of the National District and the Ministry of Culture, to continue the city’s rehabilitation of urban areas in its cultural and tourism aspects, as well as economics and economics.
Tourism Minister David Collado was also with President Abinader; Culture, Carmen Heredia and Executive Officer of the Presidency Jose Ignacio Polisa and National District Mayor Carolina Mejia.

“The resurgence of the colonial city under the leadership of President Abinadep’s government begins today,” Colorado said, highlighting the encouragement given to tourism and the transparency with which the project is managed by the ITP.
Before the formal ceremony began, President Abinader visited Borkelle Palace and held a private meeting there, after which he began his tour of Fort Osama.

Moving on a golf course, the President continued his tour with the opening of the Royal Shipyard Museum, where the President received the keys to the “Maritime Museum”, whose museum focuses on navigation, marine trade, and underwater archeological finds.
The next stop was on Los Mercedes Street in the corner of Hostos, where the President drew the first house to mark the end of the “Pindonto du Ciudad” housing development program, which aims to improve living conditions in neighboring neighboring colonial cities.
The Savian building in the Cale del Conte, on the corner of Jose Reyes, was the last leg of the tour, where the permanent exhibition “Sona Colonial Viva” was presented.
Objectives of the project
The project includes the revival of traditional buildings and public spaces in the colonial city. San Francisco Convent will intervene; Museums and wiring will be buried at the Ribeira del Osama, the Museo del Alcazar de Col ,n, the Museo de Los Casas Reels, the Santo Domingo Castle and the Cathedral Museum. RD $ 676 million was proposed to improve the housing and living conditions of residents in the northern part of the colonial city.
