Logroño, April 10. (European Press) –

Tomorrow, Thursday, April 11, neurologist Federico Castillo Álvarez will speak about “Getting around in a healthy way: what the science says” at the Caja Rioja Gran Via Foundation Center. This event was included in the citizen initiative “30 days by bike” which is being held in several cities during the month of April. It will be at 7:30 pm, and entry is free until capacity is full.

In the lecture, the specialist will attempt to highlight, through medical evidence, the benefits of active movement for individual and public health, as a tool to combat a sedentary lifestyle and reduce levels of pollution and greenhouse gases responsible for global warming, since, as he explains, “behind the climate crisis lies a public health crisis.”

In addition, the neurologist from San Pedro Hospital will explain how “in recent years around the world we have witnessed remarkable changes in our environment and living habits, with many shocking news related to climate, pollution and a sedentary lifestyle that end up having a negative impact on our health.

He will also point to the local level, where he says: “A huge debate has emerged about the mobility models we want for our cities, with often conflicting opinions and little scientific argumentation. In response to these changes, many initiatives have emerged trying to promote healthy mobility.”

Federico Castillo Álvarez points to the celebration in Logroño of the “Health Month” and the “30 Days by Bike”, a citizen initiative to promote the daily use of the bicycle.
