The problems and challenges presented in the physics pool correspond to the areas of physics that high school students study, such as vector processes and quantities, statistics, dynamics, electromagnetism, optics, and other core topics. You can register at upaep.mx/rallydefisica.

The main objective of the Physics Rally organized by UPAEP every year is to demonstrate the practical applicability of physics to young people in various everyday phenomena, as well as to represent the field of study opportunity for high school students in the state of the university. It has been celebrated since 2016.

The Physics pool is open to high school students from all over the country, provided they are enrolled at a secondary level institution. The initiative seeks to demystify the concept that physics is a complex and boring subject, giving participants the opportunity to experience it in a practical and fun way, as emphasized by Mario Enrique Lopez Medina, Director of the Physics Area in the Dean of Engineering at the University. UPAEP.

He said that the event will be held on February 23 at the UPAEP facilities, and will consist of a tour of approximately 15 bases, each of which faces challenges and theoretical problems related to various fields of physics, such as dynamics, mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism, optics, acoustics, and others. Participants, organized into teams of three and accompanied by a coordinating teacher, will compete for attractive prizes ranging from drones and tablets to technology devices.

López Medina highlighted the importance of young people understanding that physics is not only part of their academic programs, but is also present in all aspects of their environment. In addition, he highlighted the importance of promoting interest in science from the basic education stage, and helping students discover their abilities and inclinations in this field.

The gathering seeks not only to enhance physics learning, but also to motivate students, change the way they learn and help them make informed decisions about their future careers. Lopez Medina invited all high school students to participate in this unique event that combines knowledge and fun.

For his part, Pablo Marco Trijo García, Professor in the Office of the Dean of Engineering at UPAEP, provided more details about the dynamics of the competition and provided important information for those wishing to participate.

Trijo García stressed that the event will be held within the central campus of the university, with different bases strategically arranged. Each team, consisting of three high school students and a coordinating teacher, will tour these rules, facing two types of exercises: one theoretical and one practical. The time allotted for each rule is 13 minutes, divided into 8 minutes for the theoretical part, 5 minutes for the practical challenge, and 2 minutes for transitioning between the rules.

It is necessary for participants to bring with them a scientific calculator and a distinctive piece of clothing for each team, which will facilitate the process of identifying them during the competition. In addition, a guide map will be provided for each team to find their way around the central campus, ensuring efficient flow between bases.

Trejo García stressed the importance of the problems and challenges posed by the assembly, which are in line with the areas of physics that high school students study, such as processes, vector sizes, statistics, dynamics, electromagnetism, optics and other basic topics.

Regarding the registration process, the Director of the Physics District, Mario Enrique Lopez, confirmed that the event is open to all high schools, public and private, in Puebla and the region. The rally will be held on February 23, starting at 9 a.m. with advance registration, and activities will begin promptly at 10 a.m. and extend until approximately 2 p.m.

To register, those interested can access all information, including the agenda, logistics, calls and prizes, on the official event page: upaep.mx/rallydefisica. Likewise, people were encouraged to follow the Physics Rally's social networks on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, under the name “UPAEP Physics Area”, to stay informed and explore visual content from previous events.
