Transportation agency officials in Havana confirmed that people threw stones at the P16 bus in the central Havana area early this week. Although there was property damage, there were no injuries.

According to Edition The official, expanded by the Tribuna de la Habana at 00:30 hours, “In the municipality of Centro Habana, an unscrupulous and unknown crowd stoned bus 8858, covering the intersection of the P16 route at San Lázaro and Marques González streets.”

“The car has 2 damaged window panes, but it was not carrying passengers, so no one was injured,” they added.

“An incident involving several injured people on board a Havana Provincial Transportation Company bus has gone viral on Facebook and Twitter. This news is fake! “This event happened differently,” he said.

Transport officials said, “Such facts are reprehensible and conspire against improving the quality of life of our people and our services, and therefore, we strongly condemn them.”

Transportation in Havana

For those who rely on public transportation in Havana, getting from one place to another amid the current crisis can be a nightmare. Therefore, to facilitate access to updated information on routes and schedules, a mobile app (application) was developed this year.

This is Urbanos, an app that provides data on the performance of public transport. Urbanos is the result of joint work between the Geomix Agency of Geocuba Business Group, a company linked to the Revolutionary Armed Forces, and the Cuban capital's Department of Transportation.

Urbanos can now be downloaded from the Apklis site, Cuba App Repository or its Telegram channel. For now it is only available in Havana, but it is expected to be expanded to other provinces.
