Williams, the 2021-22 NBA Coach of the Year in Phoenix, said before the game that he was taking the blame. But perhaps the biggest problem is a roster whose average age is under 25, making the Pistons one of the youngest teams in the league.

They commit too many mistakes (22.8 per game in the league) and turn the ball over too often (16.6 per game for 29th) and they can't overcome the combination of errors.

Detroit opened with a pair of good possessions to take a 6-0 lead, but then Slovakia turned it over six times in the first quarter. When Brooklyn led 32-21, the Nets outscored them by 11 points.
