D.A. Alexandre Sluzari, deputy chairman of the platform and vice-president of parliament, said the faction he represents would most likely vote for the PAs’ proposed announcement on the need to dissolve parliament and trigger early elections. However, he warned that the legal consequences of such a statement would be nil, IPN notes.

President Mia Sandu’s former party, the Action and Solidarity Party, is proposing to vote on the need to dissolve parliament in the first session of parliament in the spring-summer session. According to the report, MEPs will agree not to attend the meeting, which will examine issues such as approving the executive’s ruling plan and giving a vote of confidence to the government. The first session of parliament in the new session is scheduled for February 1, when the person in charge of the country’s presidential administration to hold early elections will have to reject twice the list of proposed new government.

However, the leader of the Socialists, Igor Dodan, warned on Friday that the party with the largest parliamentary faction – the Russian language – would be given a special status to force Socialist MPs to accept the amended law so that they can vote for the future government. This comes after the Constitutional Court on Thursday announced unconstitutional legislation on the topic, which was adopted in December at the last marathon meeting of parliament in the winter session.

In December, the Socialists formed an informal majority with the group To Moldova, Created around the or party, which adopted full controversial laws, including the special status of the Russian language.
