Donald Trump will leave Washington on Wednesday morning, just hours before Joe Biden becomes the 46th president of the United States. Trump will travel to his home in Florida, where he will plan his political, legal and business future.

According to the cited sources The Wall Street Journal, Donald Trump will be ready to start his own party, called the Patriotic Party. In recent days, he has spoken to his colleagues about this because he wants to continue his influence in political life even after he leaves the White House.

The WSJ said the White House had declined to comment on the report.

Donald Trump recently had sharp disagreements with some influential Republicans, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who said Tuesday that the president deserves to be blamed for the January 6 Capitol attack.

However, opinion polls suggest that Donald Trump continues to garner strong support among Republican voters. However, his support base is very extensive because some of them were not Republican voters before the 2016 campaign.

The Wall Street Journal, on the other hand, writes that it is unclear whether setting up a new political party will be a priority for Donald Trump because he must devote time and resources to it.

In general, the two largest traditional parties in the United States, the Republicans and the Democrats, have little luck with alternative political forces. Any attempt to form a new party would be primarily affected by Republican fierce opposition, which would have worried Trump’s ouster from the election.

Trump, on the other hand, who has no presidential immunity, may no longer be questioned about his business, but in other cases as well. In addition, he is awaiting trial in the Senate for his involvement in the January 6 attack on Capitol, for which he was indicted by the House of Representatives. If Trump is found guilty in the Senate, he could be denied the right to run for president again in 2024.
