The talented people of Sampedranos who work in NASA, journalism, music, acting and sports have raised the name of Honduras.

Carol Miselem: The Sampedrana space engineer’s achievements have been highlighted by prominent international media after NASA selected him in 2015 to monitor and control living conditions aboard the International Space Station. He currently works at the Mission Control Center at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.

Dennis Manzanares: The Sampedrano countertenor rose to fame by receiving a Golden Pass on the prestigious Got Talent Spain program and now gives presentations on important European stages, where he continues to dazzle with his voice.

Emilio Mejia: The Honduran actor stars as Marc Antony in the series “Get on My Motorcycle,” which tells the story of the musical group Menuto, produced by Telemundo and broadcast on Amazon Prime. She also appeared in the movie “Hail Mary” produced by Keanu Reeves. El Catracho was born in San Pedro Sula, but several years ago he moved to Mexico City with his family and is currently studying theater in Austin, Texas.

Alejandro Gómez Rivera: He is an engineer from Sempedrano based in USA, he has experience in tunnel construction, he has participated in various mega projects in North American country and Europe. The prestigious Carnegie Mellon University recently recognized him for the success of his Binney company, through which he developed monitoring and decision-making software for tunnel boring and concrete pouring.

Maity Interiano: The beautiful and talented journalist was born in Florida, but at the age of four she moved with her family to San Pedro Sula. Honduran managed to stand out on the Univision network and won the TvyNovelas Award for Best Host in 2014. In 2019, she was also nominated for People en Español’s 50 Most Beautiful Faces.

Juan Francisco García: The journalist from Sempedrano started his career in local media and was hired last year by Telemundo New Orleans, where he carried out important coverage such as Miss Universe 2022 and continues on American television.

Mauricio Dubone: One of San Pedro Sula’s favorite sons and the pride of the Colvisula neighborhood. In 2019, the talented baseball player received recognition from the city for his outstanding work in the American Major League. Last year, Dubon became the first Honduran to win a World Series with the Houston Astros.

Hermanas Corrales: Ana, Cecia and Meredith Corrales, three talented samprons with a passion for music. The three sisters, who graduated from the Victoriano Lopez School, won scholarships to study music in America, where they excelled in talent, humility and academic excellence.

David Bass: A talented pianist from Sempedrano, he received a scholarship to study at Northwestern State University in Louisiana. Despite many obstacles, he earned his dual degree a few months ago. Bass plans to continue to specialize in the North American country by participating in major events in the United States.

Ana Suazo: The Central American Taekwondo Champion dared to dream big and work hard to make her dreams come true. In 2020 he became the fourth Honduran to graduate from the prestigious Harvard University, where he studied political science.

Andrea Alvarez: The well-known pastry chef participated in Food Network’s Winner Cake All competition program in 2019. The Honduran is a cake designer living in the United States after receiving her certification from the French Pastry School in Chicago.
