Don Lemon Says He Was Fired by CNN – NBC New York (47)

veteran CNN anchor Dan Lemon said in a post Your Twitter account He was fired this Monday after 17 years at the network.

Lemon said he was surprised to hear the news.

“I can’t believe it. I would have thought that after 17 years at CNN, someone in management would have the decency to tell me directly,” the anchor wrote. “At no point did they give me any indication that I couldn’t continue to do the job I wanted at this network. It was clear there was a big problem.

Lemon has been at the center of several controversies in recent months, including on-air comments and questions about his treatment of women at the network.

CNN CEO Chris Licht said Lemon and the network reached the end by “mutual agreement.” NBC News This Monday.

“CNN and Dan have parted ways by mutual agreement. Dan will always be a part of our CNN family, thanks to his contributions over the past 17 years,” the network said in a statement. “We wish him well and support him in his future endeavours.”

In Second statement Broadcast by CNN’s public relations department, the network said Lemon’s comments about his departure were “incorrect.”

“He (Lemon) was offered an opportunity to meet the management, but instead decided to release his statement on Twitter,” the message read.

Lemon came to CNN in 2006 after serving as an anchor at NBC Chicago and as a reporter for NBC News, Today and NBC Nightly News.
