The Chairman of the Standing Committee on Education, Health, Science, Technology and Innovation of the National Assembly (AN), Rep. Ricardo Sanchez, reported that they attended more than 800 social cases during 2022.
Sanchez’s deputyspecified that the instance under his charge approved, in the first semester of the year, the reform of the Basic Law of Science, Technology and Innovation, approved on March 17 and published in Official Gazette (GO) 6693 Extraordinary on April 1st.
He confirmed that they continue to work with the Standing Authority for Comprehensive Social Development to approve the Comprehensive Care Act for People with Autism Spectrum Disorders (TEA) in the first debate.
Similarly, Sanchez noted that the Peaceful Coexistence in Schools Bill and the Student Participation in Basic Education Subsystem Bill were also approved in the first debate, the report of which was approved for the second debate. They are currently in the public consultation stage.
On the other hand, the deputy pointed out that there are nine laws on the agenda for the approval of the National Assembly Board of Directors to put them forward for the first discussion in the next parliamentary period.
He said that during 2022, they held 31 regular meetings, 85 work meetings in the six subcommittees, 26 technical agendas, 16 enterprise deployment activities, and 45 meetings with representatives of the national executive at all levels, in order to guide legislative policy.
The committee approved seven agreements and urged parliamentarians not to let their guard down and work permanently to meet the needs of popular power.
