Iberocuento, a space for joy at the Ibero-American Festival

Jordanes Serra, actor and narrator on Words to the Wind, commented that the story is the company’s starting point in working with children, as it is the first intelligent manifestation that brings them closer to the art of oral narration.

He emphasized that the primary purpose of his work in the field of special education is to seek the spontaneous participation of infants, and from music and dance helps them form images and emotions that can later be part of their daily coexistence with teachers and family members.

The company opened the Iberocuento space on Tuesday, October 25 with the children’s show “Stories for a Party” held in the Alberto Dávalos Auditorium in the Eddy Suñol Theater Cultural Complex and has since also been included in various community venues to share with children, youth and adults its hopeful message.

Iberocuento’s closing will be lavish on Friday and Saturday nights with “La Tregua,” showcasing Mario Benedetti’s iconic novel that will bring together in the main room Raúl Camide, Peruvian narrator Nerit Olaya and Blanca Pérez, member of the Words to the Wind.

Together with Iberocuento Thursday of the Holguin branch of the National Union of Writers and Artists in Cuba, activities continued as part of the Ibero-American Congress of Literature, where the paintings “Written Homeland. Tenth in Cuba” were held. With writers Ronel Gonzalez, Jose Luis Serrano and Junior Felipe Figueroa, as well as “530 Years of the Confluence of Two Cultures from Holguín” by historians Angela Peña, Hiram Perez and Jose Abreu Cardet.

The book “The Temple of Silence” by Edward Ensima was also presented at the event under the title Ediciones La Luz; While the Literary Café, hosted by Manuel Garcia Verdesia every Thursday, will be joined by readings by Mariela Varona and Rubén Rodriguez.

The night will dress Cuban identity at the 28th Ibero-American Culture Festival with a superb concert by Holguin Chamber Orchestra along with the fun duo Caricure, soloist Lucrecia Marin, Orvion & Savarez, Imberento and Guitar Orchestra.
