The Adviser for Tourism, Culture and Historical Heritage, Miguel Angel Valero, welcomed the participants to the meeting between the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Spanish Autonomous Communities that is taking place these days in Cuenca. .

On this working day, in which also the Director General of Universities, Research and Innovation of the Castilla-La Mancha Community Council, Ricardo Cuevas, and the Director General of Companies, Javier Rosell, gathered in Cuenca more than fifty people, all of whom were senior officials in the administration of the State and the Autonomous Communities. .

Valero explained that as part of the strategy being developed in the City Council for the Promotion of Meetings and Business Tourism (MICE for its English acronym), the Ministry of Tourism helped organize the meeting to facilitate their stay and that they could get to know the city in order to promote Cuenca as a destination among the attendees.

At this point, he wanted to thank CDTI for trusting Cuenca to host this important professional meeting.

MICE TOURISM PROMOTION

The tourism consultant pointed out that exhibitions and conferences is a type of tourism that allows canceling the balance of demand and boosting tourism activity during the week, something that the local hospitality sector is keenly seeking, in addition to attracting high-quality tourism. This is why the City Council’s goal is to continue promoting this type of tourism through the 2021-2023 Tourism Sustainability Plan.
