Santo Domingo, RD.

Rogelio Viesca, Claro’s President and Carlos Cueto, recently appointed General Director and CEO of the company, announced the launch of their 5G mobile service during the visit of President Luis Abinader.

Company executives provided the president with technical details of the purpose of the service and coverage, as well as an expansion plan to be undertaken in the coming months.

“Through this infrastructure already in place in the National District, we are ushering in a new era of digital transformation in the country and implementing the fifth generation mobile connectivity that will enable the current government to act as a platform for the implementation of the 2030 digital agenda. Viska pointed out.

He hopes that this first phase deployment already includes plans and equipment that will allow customers to enjoy Chloro’s 5G coverage, which will soon be used in Greater Santo Domingo, Santiago and La Romana.

President Louis Abinader expressed satisfaction at the implementation of this technology.

“We reaffirm our satisfaction at continuing to count Claro Dominicana as this management partner and strategic partner, including support and access to the four axes outlined in our 2030 Digital Agenda, including its infrastructure and corporate agenda. Improving education and digital skills, cyber security and the culture of innovation, ”the President said.

The event was attended by Nelson Arroyo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL).

From Claro Dominicana, Juan Pablo Romero and Omar Agosta, Vice Presidents of Engineering and Network Operations and Marketing and Corporate Communications, were also in attendance.
