On Thursday, Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry argued the need to create a stable environment for holding elections in a country where the socio-political crisis has worsened since the July 7 assassination of President Jovnell Moyes.

In a speech at the 218th anniversary commemoration, Henry said, “I would like to emphasize today the need to maintain a stable political environment to move our country on the path of sustainable development for the next elections (which will be postponed indefinitely). The Prime Minister pointed out that this path of dialogue and consensus will “continue” in this approach with determination, perseverance and determination that “it will lead us to a successful conclusion”.
