he councilors of Ushuaia gave a favorable prediction to the project that establishes the generation of a green space for recreation and socialization in the vicinity of the Kaikén neighborhood.
Meeting in the Planning and Public Works commission, chaired by councilor Ricardo Garramuño, the councilors gave predictions to the matter, so the issue will be addressed in the participatory space of Citizen Debate in the coming days.
The initiative promoted jointly by the councilor Mariana Oviedo and Ricardo Garramuño, for the MPF, and Javier Branca for the Frente de Todos-PJ, arose from the proposal of residents of the neighborhood about the need to have a space for use community.
It should be remembered that, at the request of the residents of the sector and after an analysis and debate in the framework of the 7th ordinary session of the year, a request from the Municipal Executive regarding the change of zoning and disaffection of “green space” of the plot in question, which allowed the installation of a service station and which, in the opinion of the neighbors, violated their security and neglected a claim of years about the generation of a space for the development of recreational activities.
Among the fundamentals of the project, the Municipality is asked to agree with the neighbors on the actions to enhance the value of the area, which include cleaning up the “Laguna de los Patos” sector; project the construction of a neighborhood community center; place urban furniture that guarantees the safety of children and adults who attend said space; manage the lighting of the sector and perform landscaping tasks; Tasks that are required to be incorporated into the 2022 Works Plan.
In the document, the councilors point out that “recreational and leisure spaces are fundamental in improving the quality of life. In the particular case of our city, the existence of spaces with natural characteristics is increasingly scarce in equal measure in which the weighting of them by the neighbors grows ”.
