A new resolution aims to generate alert levels for capacity in commercial premises and events.
The Municipality of Quito issued a new resolution for the management of the pandemic in the capital, in order to start the economic reactivation. Document A040-2021 became effective as of its publication, this September 13, 2021.
Among the established standards, the control for the correct use of the mask in public spaces.
As reported by the Metropolitan Control Agency (AMC), the person who violates this provision will be sanctioned with a fine equal to 25% of a basic unified salary (SBU), $ 100, and if he is a repeat offender, $ 200.
In addition, for the use of property of public domain and use, and private that are part of the public space, must comply with the following:
- Use a mask that protects the nose and mouth from exposure to the environment. The mask will observe the specifications provided in the corresponding protocol of the Ministry of Health.
- Carry and display a citizenship card or any official document that allows you to prove your identity.
- Circulate or be located at a distance of at least two meters from other people.
The vehicle restriction through the Hoy no Circula plan is maintained. The restriction schedule according to the last digit of the plates is 07:00 to 19:00 Monday to Friday.
On weekends and holidays there will be free circulation for all plates.
Also they safe-conducts remain enabled, as well as the exceptions in the restriction that applies only to the urban area of Quito.
Alert thresholds for the productive sector
The Ministry of Health will issue biweekly reports on the epidemiological situation of the city. Through these, the alert levels in which Quito is for capacity permits in the different productive sectors.
These are the thresholds:

For the moment, the Ministry of Health reported that the capital is at level 2 (middle) of the evolution of the pandemic.
Too the suspension of single licenses for economic activity was lifted (LUAE), the premises will also depend on this level of alert provided by the Ministry of Health.

In addition, commercial premises will be subject to new provisions. In this case, with the threshold at level 2 or medium, the shopping centers, supermarkets and markets may have a capacity of 75%. Banking agencies 70% and restaurants will be able to receive 70% indoors and 80% outdoors.
