The National Meteorological Office (NMO) has announced that the maximum prolonged winds of the Grace Tropical Storm moving at 37 km / h in the west-northwest direction will intensify at a speed of 75 km / h due to the tropical storm.

According to meteorologist Caritad Hernandez, the event is located about 425 kilometers east-southeast of the island of Sodavento.

If Grace follows the same path, it will be the northern and northeastern border of the Dominican Republic, and it is expected to rain for the first time this Monday morning.

“Today there are tropical wave events near the eastern part of the country, which provide humidity and instability, which constantly generates some local rainfall with electric storms and sometimes winds in the southeastern regions, northeast and in some parts of the central mountain range,” the meteorologist said.

With regard to maritime conditions, he noted that they are in optimal condition so that operators of any type of ship can carry out their operations without any difficulty.

The estimated rainfall so far is 75 to 150 millimeters.

The company has 12 provinces on alert. These include Duarte, Azua, Peravia, Monte Plata, Barahona, La Vega, Monsignor Nouel, San Cristóbal, San Pedro de Macorís and The Great Santo Domingo.

Meanwhile, Hato Meyer and San Jose de Ochoa are on alert.

The meteorological study suggests that people should pay attention to the announcements made by the relief authorities.
