(CNN) – France and Iceland were one of seven places added to the high-risk travel category by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Monday.
According to the CDC guide, you should avoid traveling to places with the “Level 4: Covit-19 High” warning. Anyone traveling must first be fully vaccinated, the company warns.
Seven locations added to the Tier 4 list on August 9:
- Aruba
- Eswathini (formerly Swaziland)
- France
- French Polynesia
- Iceland
- Israel
- Thailand
In its comprehensive travel guide, the CDC recommends against international travel until you are fully vaccinated.
“Fully vaccinated travelers are less likely to be infected and transmit Govt-19. However, international travel presents additional risks, and even fully vaccinated travelers may be at higher risk of contracting some variants of Govt-19,” the company said.
Places that fall into the “highest” risk category, according to CDC parameters, have more than 500 cases per 100,000 residents in the last 28 days.
CDC maintains an evolutionary list of travel advice from Level 1 (“Low”) to Level 4 (“High”). Last week, the The company added 16 places to its “highest” risk category, Including Greece, Ireland and the American Virgin Islands.
