WhatsApp is working on a new privacy option for Android that introduces the option to configure an alternate profile, allowing users to display themselves using a secondary profile photo and name. No access to your profile Important.

The instant messaging platform is constantly looking for ways to protect users’ privacy in order to provide the most secure experience on the app.

WhatsApp already has a privacy function from 2022 through which users can decide who can see their photo, their last connection or their personal information. Select from all users and only the contacts to be addedAdded contacts except specific selected users or no one added.

In this sense, the Meta messaging application has started working on a new privacy option that allows the creation of an alternate profile that will be displayed to users who have restricted access to the primary profile. With this option, users can set up a secondary profile by entering an alternate photo and name.

This was verified by the specialized media WaBetaInfo after examining the WhatsApp beta update for Android 2.23.24.4, which shows that this option in development is designed for users who have access to a profile configured for a limited number of viewers.

That is, for example, users who have configured that only contacts saved in the phonebook can see their profile photo, You can create this new alternate profile, to display to users not saved in your contacts. This is a measure aimed at protecting personal information.

Specifically, this new alternate profile option has been implemented on the Privacy Settings page, in the Profile Photo section. From there, users can enter a new profile picture and alias.
