Sinology announces the Rackstation RS1221 + and RS1221RP +, two 2U rack units built to deliver high performance in space-efficient design factor.
These two units were the first models in the rackstation series to be fitted with the AMD Raison V1500B processor.
“The RS1221 + and RP + units are designed for the small business sector and are truly ‘small,'” said Michael Wang, product manager at Sinology. “These units not only provide better performance, but also form factors with shallower depths. Also, for companies with higher availability, the RP + version is equipped with both power, which provides additional redundancy and reliability.”
Compared to their predecessor, these new drives offer 3.6x higher system performance 2, improved 108K IOPS random reading and 2.3x higher order writing performance (1,147 MB / s). These features provide better performance in managing data and backup tasks, which allows companies to expand the number of users and services while maintaining greater performance.
Measuring only 30 cm and 40 cm, respectively, half the depth provided by standard 2U units, the Sinology RS1221 + and RS1221RP + are suitable for small homes, i.e. wall-mounted boxes or two-pole racks (RS1221 + Only), where space is required
The units are configured with 4GB DDR4 ECC memory and have the option to expand up to 32GB. The PCIe 3.0 slot allows for easy upgrades to 10GB using a compatible NIC3 drive, or the option to add an NVM cache using the Sinology M2 drives and the Sinology SVN 30004 SST. The units can be extended to 12 bays using the expansion unit 5 RX4185. For companies that want extended support, the 3 year limited warranty can be extended to 5 years.
Synology Diskstation Manager (DSM) simplifies complex and complex data management processes, while giving users great control over important decisions. It allows backups of the IT infrastructure with the Sinology Active backup package, virtual machines with a private local cloud hosting, virtual machine manager, mail servers with Mail Plus and other SAS services using the Sinology Drive application.
The RS1221 +, but also the dual-power RP + version, is equipped with the latest AMD Ryzen V1500B processor, which is a quad-core at 2.2GHz, with 4GB ECC DDR4 RAM expandable up to 32GB.
The transmission speed provided by the new rackstation is up to 2315 MB / s for continuous reading and up to 100k 4k random IOPS.
For the connection area, RS1221 / RP + offers two USB 3.0 ports, four LAN ports, an ESATA port and a COM port.
