Lee was stabbed in the left side of his neck during a question-and-answer session with reporters following a visit to the construction site of a new airport on Busan's Kadeok Island.

After the attack, Lee remained conscious, although the wound continued to bleed. After first aid treatment at the scene, he was taken to hospital by ambulance. Later, the local police said that the politician's life was not in danger, reported KBS channel.
The country's justice minister spoke about the violent incident. Han Dong-hoonwho said “This should never happen“, he prayed for Lee's “redemption”.
Who is Lee Jae-myung?
Lee Jae-myung is a South Korean politician who serves as a member of the National Assembly and chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea. Lee was the Democratic Party's candidate in the 2022 South Korean presidential election. He was the 35th Governor of Gyeonggi Province from 2018 to 2021.
