Google has started making many changes that will provide more online convenience to its users. For example, if you are one of those people who often forget passwords, now they don’t need to access your Gmail.

Google’s innovation is a Tool Created to simplify logging into your email. The so-called “Basques” now take center stage; They will be set as the main option for accessing Gmail. Thus, Google says goodbye to embarrassing passwords that we often don’t remember and waste time looking for options to access the services of our applications.

Note that entering a password is currently required to enter Gmail. From now on, the new security step will allow you to access email from your mobile phone much faster and easier.

Generally, passwords are very vulnerable and can lead to data theft. Hackers decrypt them and get your personal information. According to Google, something that is no longer possible. Passkeys, on the other hand, use cryptographic keys stored on devices.

Passkeys prevent impersonation and phishing

The fact that the new thing that Google brings with its “passkeys” does not allow impersonation and phishing attacks. Its users can take this security measure for their accounts on sites like YouTube, Google Maps, etc.

Other major companies in the US are now taking the first steps to incorporate the new tool. They include Apple, Microsoft, eBay, Uber and WhatsApp.

The process of activating “Baskeys” is simple. The first thing is to generate an access key with the QR code that the browser displays on your device. By the way, you can use it for others, which is an invaluable advantage.

Now, when you enter Google, the service automatically detects the presence of a ‘passkey’ and asks you to access it. You enter Google services with a QR code or your fingerprint.

How to activate “Baskeys”?

-Log in to any Google page and click on your profile photo.

-A menu will open, select “Manage Google Account”.

In the Settings window, go to the “Security” tab and select “Access Keys”.

-The system will ask you to verify your identity with your password.

-Once in, you can view your devices and create a new ‘passkey’.

-Now, you should go to the top of the screen where you will see a message indicating “Generate access key on this device”. Click the “Generate Access Key” button.

Press “Continue” and it will be saved to your account. Repeat the process on all the pages you use frequently.
