Baseball League gets health exemption

The professional baseball league received a supply from the Department of Health for sports, which will increase capacity, require vaccinations and establish measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The distribution establishes that only those who have been vaccinated with three doses can participate in sports. A capacity greater than that established in the Executive Order will not be allowed to exceed 1,200 fans per game, as long as there is a gap between families. Contestants, team members, referees, coaches and members of the press are excluded from the competition.

On the other hand, they should ensure a physical distance of 10 feet between houses, and encourage the use of masks and disinfection of hands. Likewise, crowds should be avoided in common areas such as checkpoints, entrances, exits, and bathrooms, so they should establish a system in which all food and beverages are served to the seats of the fanatics.

“Baseball fans can relax in peace. Baseball is played in Puerto Rico, but with strict rules. The important thing for us is to comply with safety measures to avoid sources of infection. Crowd congestion is a major issue in the spread of the virus, and care must be taken to prevent the spread of the virus. However, if we guarantee distance, they can increase efficiency in matches. In addition to other stimulus measures, ”said Health Secretary Carlos Mellado Lopez.
