After the swearing-in ceremony in the western part of the U.S. Capitol, Joe Biden and his wife, First Lady Jill Biden, will join Vice President-elect Kamala Harris and her husband for a performance that will be largely hypothetical.

The investment committee promised to broadcast the event on television and will show “diverse and dynamic” shows in communities across the country. Ceremony participants will be announced in the coming days.

“We are pleased with the opportunities and opportunities this moment presents to allow all Americans to participate in the sacred traditions of our country,” Magu Varghese, executive director of the inaugural chair committee, said in a statement.

The organizers also announced that both Joe Biden and other event participants “will respect social distancing and health and safety protocols.”
