The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum has unveiled limited-edition Oklahoma Sooners “Boomer Sooner” and Oklahoma State Cowboys “Go Pokes” bobbleheads, expanding its collegiate collectibles lineup as the 2026 college football season gets underway.

The officially licensed collectibles were introduced in conjunction with College Colors Day and the start of the new academic year. They are part of the museum’s new College Slogan Series, which features nearly 30 recognizable slogans associated with college athletics across the United States.

The Oklahoma-themed releases feature the University of Oklahoma’s Boomer and Sooner mascots and Oklahoma State University’s Pistol Pete, incorporating the schools’ colors, traditions and well-known rallying cries into the designs.

Limited Production Run Targets College Sports Collectors

Each bobblehead will be individually numbered as part of a limited production run of 2,026 units. The collectibles are priced at $40 each, with an $8 flat-rate shipping charge per order. They are expected to ship in February.

The “Boomer Sooner” collectible features Boomer positioned on the left and Sooner on the right. Both mascots wear crimson and cream No. 1 football jerseys and display the No. 1 hand sign while standing on a school-colored base bearing the “Boomer Sooner” slogan.

The Oklahoma State design features Pistol Pete standing on a “Go Pokes” base in the Cowboys’ school colors. The mascot wears his signature orange cowboy hat while also displaying the No. 1 sign.

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum is producing the special-edition collectibles as part of its expanding portfolio of officially licensed college merchandise. The organization is an official licensee of the University of Oklahoma.

“Boomer Sooner” and “Go Pokes” Highlight Oklahoma College Traditions

The new collectibles draw on traditions closely associated with the two Oklahoma universities and their athletic programs.

“Boomer Sooner” is the University of Oklahoma’s official fight song and one of its best-known rallying cries. The terms have historical roots in Oklahoma’s settlement era surrounding the 1889 Land Run. Over time, the phrase became closely associated with the university and its sports teams.

Oklahoma State’s “Pokes” nickname and “Go Pokes” rallying cry are connected to “cowpokes,” a historical term for cowboys. The university was founded in 1890 as Oklahoma A&M, with its athletic teams initially known as the Aggies. The Cowboy identity and Pistol Pete mascot were embraced during the 1920s, eventually contributing to the Cowboys and Pokes identities used today.

Launch Coincides With College Colors Day and Football Kickoff

The bobbleheads were released in conjunction with College Colors Day, which is celebrated annually on the Friday before Labor Day as students, alumni and supporters display their school colors ahead of the new college football season.

Oklahoma State began its fall semester on August 17, while the University of Oklahoma began its semester on August 24.

The Sooners open their 2026 football season on September 4 against UTEP at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman. The Cowboys begin their season on September 5 against Tulsa at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium in Tulsa.

The timing places the collectibles on the market as fan interest increases around the return of college football and the beginning of another academic year.

“We’re excited to unveil these ‘Boomer Sooner’ and ‘Go Pokes’ bobbleheads as part of our College Slogan collection,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “As two of the most iconic and recognized college slogans, ‘Boomer Sooner’ and ‘Go Pokes’ gets OU and OSU fans fired up every time. These bobbleheads are a must-have for Sooner and Cowboy fans everywhere!”

National Bobblehead Hall of Fame Expands Collegiate Collectibles

The Oklahoma releases are part of the Milwaukee-based organization’s broader business in licensed and customized collectibles.

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum opened to the public on February 1, 2019, at 170 S. 1st St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In addition to operating the museum, the organization produces customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as for organizations, individuals and sports teams across the country.

With production limited to 2,026 units of each design, the latest release combines collectible merchandise with the established traditions surrounding two major Oklahoma college athletic programs. The launch also reflects the continuing commercial appeal of university mascots, slogans and school traditions within the U.S. college sports merchandise market.
