LONDON — American symphonic power metal band Valkyrie’s Fire has released its new single and accompanying music video, “Burning Sky”, featuring guest vocals from Mikael Sehlin of Amaranthe, as the group prepares for the launch of its debut full-length album Out of Darkness on 18 September 2026.

The single marks the first release from the forthcoming album, which will be issued through Eclipse Records. Accompanying the track is a visually ambitious music video directed by ProMotion LLC, filmed at the historic Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary in Tennessee and in the forests of Stockholm, Sweden.

The release represents a significant step for the Nashville-based six-piece as it seeks to establish itself within the global symphonic metal market. By combining cinematic storytelling with an expansive musical arrangement, the band aims to introduce a broader audience to its blend of power metal, symphonic elements and modern heavy music production.

“Burning Sky” centres on a multi-layered vocal performance featuring Bettie Floyd, Adam Sanders and Sehlin. The track combines melodic power metal with aggressive metalcore influences, creating a contrast between soaring harmonies and heavier vocal passages. The collaboration with Sehlin adds an additional dimension to the composition, bringing together American and Scandinavian influences within a single production.

Written and produced by guitarist Joey Grimaldi, the song was crafted to deliver a darker and more dramatic atmosphere while maintaining the melodic foundations associated with the symphonic metal genre. The production places a strong emphasis on vocal interplay, orchestral textures and driving guitar work.

Lyrically, the song draws on historical and biblical imagery, using storytelling themes to explore endurance, destruction and renewal. These concepts are reinforced throughout the music video, which employs a muted visual palette and recurring fire imagery to symbolise resilience, vengeance and rebirth.

The release of “Burning Sky” also provides an early look at Out of Darkness, the band’s debut full-length album. Produced and engineered by Grimaldi, the record has been developed as an evolution of Valkyrie’s Fire’s existing sound while embracing a broader symphonic scope.

The project features cover artwork created by Jan Yrlund, whose previous work includes designs for Battle Beast, Manowar and Delain. According to the band, the album combines European symphonic metal influences with contemporary production techniques emerging from Nashville’s modern metal scene.

A key feature of the album is the involvement of Sehlin, whose contribution extends beyond his guest appearance on “Burning Sky”. The Amaranthe vocalist also participated in the mastering process, helping shape the final sonic profile of the record.

Beyond the lead single, the album explores a range of themes and musical styles. “Cascade” offers a more atmospheric composition focused on the transition from dusk to night and the appearance of constellations across the evening sky. Meanwhile, “Evermore” takes inspiration from the literary works of Edgar Allan Poe, reimagining themes associated with The Raven as a story of grief, healing and hope.

Industry observers have noted the continued growth of symphonic metal audiences outside Europe, creating opportunities for emerging North American acts. With influences drawn from established names such as Epica, Within Temptation and Nightwish, Valkyrie’s Fire is seeking to position itself within that expanding market.

The forthcoming album contains 13 tracks and is expected to serve as the band’s most ambitious release to date. The track listing includes “In Spirit, In Shadow”, “Evermore”, “Valkyrie’s Fire”, “Cascade”, “Burning Sky”, “Shattered”, “I See the Angels Fly”, “Skylark”, “Labyrinth”, “Bone and Thorn”, “Dark Moon”, “Nocturne” and “I Will Rise Again”.

With the release of “Burning Sky”, Valkyrie’s Fire has begun the promotional campaign for Out of Darkness, ahead of the album’s official launch on 18 September 2026 through Eclipse Records. The project is expected to introduce the band to a wider international audience while strengthening its position within the evolving symphonic metal landscape.
