COLUMBUS, Ohio — Uline, the North American distributor of shipping, industrial and packaging materials, is beginning the year with a recruitment drive in the Columbus area as it seeks to support continued operational growth and rising customer demand.

The company will host its first hiring event of the year at its Etna facility on Thursday, January 22, running from 4pm to 7pm, as it looks to recruit for day and night shift warehouse roles with hourly pay starting from $26 for day positions and $28 for night shifts, including a $2 shift differential.

Award recognition highlights operational focus

Alongside its expansion, Uline has also received industry recognition for leadership and performance. The company recently received the 2026 Distributors Deliver Award from the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW), an honour that recognises leaders across the distribution sector for excellence in operations, workforce development and community impact.

The award positions Uline among a select group of distribution businesses highlighted for their ability to scale operations while investing in employees and supporting local economies. For the Columbus region, where logistics and warehousing remain central to industrial development, Uline’s continued investment adds to broader employment momentum.

Uline’s leadership has framed the company’s latest hiring effort as part of a longer-term strategy focused on stable employment and sustained growth, rather than short-term recruitment.

“As we begin the year, we’re focused on welcoming team members who want to grow alongside Uline,” says Isaiah Haines, Ohio Branch Manager. “Our continued expansion, strong retention and industry recognition reflect our commitment to providing stable long-term careers in Ohio.”

Hiring follows major footprint growth and workforce expansion

The company’s Etna facility, located near Columbus, is part of a wider network of distribution centres supporting Uline’s operations across North America. The additional 1.5 million square feet added in 2025 reflects continued capital investment designed to improve service levels and delivery speed, while supporting larger order volumes.

Uline’s hiring plans also follow a period of significant recruitment. Bringing in around 1,200 new employees last year indicates the scale at which the company is expanding, particularly as supply chain resilience and faster fulfilment remain priorities for many industrial and commercial customers.

With distribution businesses facing ongoing labour competition in key logistics hubs, companies are increasingly seeking to differentiate themselves through wages, benefits, and long-term career progression. Uline has positioned its employment offer around stability and retention, with the company reporting an average employee tenure of seven years.

The business said this is supported by record-low turnover and a workplace culture that emphasises advancement and employee wellbeing. It also highlighted comprehensive benefits beginning on day one, which remains a key differentiator in a sector where benefit eligibility can vary widely depending on employer and contract structure.

Roles on offer and pay ranges

Uline is recruiting for Warehouse Associate positions across both day and night shifts. The company said pay for day roles starts from $26 to $32 per hour, while night shift roles start from $28 to $34 per hour, reflecting the shift differential.

The hiring event will take place at 8320 Global Way SW, Etna, OH 43062, with interviews available during the session.

For Uline, the recruitment drive marks an early-year push to strengthen staffing levels as it continues to scale operations in Ohio and across North America, following a year of expansion, recruitment, and industry recognition.
