The Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) has launched its annual members-only holiday shop, offering supporters a short window to purchase branded merchandise while contributing directly to the organisation’s preservation and education initiatives. The online store, open from 24 November through 8 December, has been developed in partnership with the Oklahoma Shirt Company and features a curated range of apparel starting at $20. All items will be shipped in time for Christmas.
Partnership Aims to Boost Engagement and Revenue
The collaboration with the Oklahoma Shirt Company reflects OHS’s strategy to strengthen member engagement while diversifying revenue streams. The partnership enables the organisation to provide high-quality merchandise that reinforces brand visibility and community connection. The seasonal range includes stylish tees, sweatshirts, hoodies and beanies, each available in multiple sizes and prominently featuring OHS insignia. Designs include the circular Oklahoma Historical Society mark and a four-part square window graphic, as well as new branding displayed on select beanies.
Urgent Call to Order During Short Sales Window
OHS has emphasised the limited availability of the shop, encouraging members to act quickly. The organisation repeatedly urged, “Order today!” noting that stock and ordering time are both restricted. Supporters are encouraged to consider early holiday shopping, with the assurance that all products will arrive before Christmas.
Merchandise Sales Directly Support OHS Mission
Beyond retail, OHS used the announcement to reiterate the broader purpose of the initiative. The organisation highlighted the critical role supporters play in enabling its services. “As we continue to collect, preserve, and share, it is crucial that every person who views our exhibits, explores our archives, experiences a field trip, engages with historic preservation, enjoys our publications, discovers history on our website, or visits an OHS museum or historic site understands their experience was made possible by the OHS and its supporters,” the Society stated.
It added that, “All proceeds from the sales of this holiday shop go directly to support the mission of the OHS, to collect, preserve, and share the history of the state.” This reinforces the fundraising model common among cultural institutions, where merchandise revenue helps sustain preservation, exhibition development and community programming.
OHS Continues Work as State’s Cultural Steward
Established in 1893, the Oklahoma Historical Society remains one of the state’s leading custodians of historical materials. Through museums, archives, heritage sites and educational programmes, it documents and preserves Oklahoma’s diverse cultural heritage. The organisation reaffirmed this commitment, stating: “The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society is to collect, preserve, and share the history and culture of the state of Oklahoma and its people.”
Shop Open Until 8 December
The members-only shop will continue to accept orders until 8 December, after which it will close until the next seasonal sales cycle. OHS encourages members to review the merchandise promptly to ensure availability and timely Christmas delivery.
