Mountain View, California — Autonomous vehicle developer Cyngn Inc. (Nasdaq: CYN) has released a new customer case-study video showcasing how U.S. Continental, a manufacturing and logistics operator, has adopted the company’s DriveMod Tugger to automate material handling across its production site.

The case study, filmed at U.S. Continental’s manufacturing facility, demonstrates the role of Cyngn’s autonomous technology in improving operational efficiency. The DriveMod Tugger is shown transporting pallets between buildings and moving goods throughout outdoor and indoor environments — a task that traditionally relies on manual labour and forklifts.

Cyngn said the deployment illustrates how manufacturers can integrate autonomy into their existing vehicle fleets without the need for extensive infrastructure changes. The DriveMod system can be retrofitted onto standard industrial tuggers, turning them into self-driving vehicles capable of operating safely around people, vehicles, and machinery.

The company stated that the technology uses advanced sensors, artificial intelligence, and computer-vision software to navigate complex industrial environments. According to Cyngn, the DriveMod platform allows operators to monitor vehicle performance, optimise routes, and improve safety standards across manufacturing campuses.

Customer Endorsement

In the video, U.S. Continental managers describe the autonomous tugger’s performance in real-world conditions, citing its ability to move heavy materials efficiently across outdoor yards and between buildings. The customer noted improvements in productivity and worker safety following the implementation.

“Definitely recommends” Cyngn’s DriveMod Tugger, said U.S. Continental in the case study, praising the technology’s reliability and ease of use. The testimonial highlights how automation can complement existing labour forces, freeing up employees to focus on higher-value tasks.

Cyngn described the project as a milestone in the adoption of autonomous industrial vehicles across American manufacturing operations. The company has previously deployed DriveMod systems in multiple sectors, including logistics, warehousing, and materials transport.

Strategic Expansion in Autonomous Mobility

Headquartered in Mountain View, California, Cyngn specialises in AI-powered autonomy systems for industrial and commercial applications. Its DriveMod Kit enables partners to retrofit existing fleets, while its Enterprise Autonomy Suite provides cloud-based analytics and fleet-management tools.

The firm’s technology has been developed to address growing demand for cost-efficient automation in the manufacturing sector. Labour shortages, rising operational costs, and safety compliance pressures have accelerated interest in autonomous transport solutions across global supply chains.

Cyngn’s Chief Executive has previously emphasised that the DriveMod approach lowers barriers to entry by allowing companies to automate without purchasing entirely new fleets. Instead, the modular retrofit technology can extend the lifespan of conventional vehicles while introducing autonomy at scale.

Industry analysts note that such solutions are increasingly attractive to mid-sized manufacturers seeking to digitise operations. The U.S. Continental deployment serves as a tangible example of how automation can be introduced incrementally, reducing downtime and minimising capital expenditure.

Broader Implications for Manufacturing Efficiency

The release of the case study underscores a growing focus on automation as a tool to enhance productivity and resilience within manufacturing networks. By automating repetitive logistics tasks, companies can improve throughput and maintain consistency even amid workforce fluctuations.

The DriveMod Tugger operates both indoors and outdoors, enabling continuous material flow between storage areas and production lines. According to Cyngn, its system reduces reliance on manual transport and helps prevent accidents commonly associated with heavy-duty towing operations.

The company said that data collected by the autonomous vehicles can be used to identify bottlenecks and further refine logistics planning. These insights, Cyngn added, contribute to an ongoing improvement cycle within automated manufacturing environments.

Continuing Momentum

Cyngn’s announcement follows several months of heightened interest in automation technologies across North America. Recent investments in AI-enabled logistics and robotics have positioned autonomous vehicle developers as key contributors to industrial transformation.

The firm intends to continue showcasing customer success stories to highlight real-world performance and reliability. Through partnerships such as the one with U.S. Continental, Cyngn aims to demonstrate that autonomous mobility can deliver measurable economic and safety benefits for industrial clients.

The newly released case-study video featuring U.S. Continental and the DriveMod Tugger is available through Cyngn’s official media channels.
