Galicia invests .3 million to boost its health data space

The Galician Executive approved, on Monday, a tender for an amount of 2,320,000 euros for the period 2024-2026, to contract the development service of the data analysis platform, which will allow the operation of the different tools that provide support for the information analysis systems of the Galician public health system.

The goal is to contract specialized services that allow maintaining the operation and advanced information analysis service for users, to obtain a health data space that meets the specific requirements.

The tender is divided into two parts. The services proposed to be contracted in the first part aim to strengthen the health data spaces in Galicia, in addition to the interoperability services necessary to link the health data space in Galicia with the national space.

Group 2, whose tender has been approved, focuses on improving the information that will be provided to health professionals through periodic reports with indicators of structure, process and results in the implementation of the Digital Transformation Plan for Primary Care in Galicia. within the framework of the Digital Health Strategy.

In June last year, the Galician government approved the Ministry of Health's 2023-2026 Digital Health Transformation Strategic Plan, which has a budget of 200 million euros and aims to help transform and develop the citizen care model.

currently, Galician Health Service It stores information in a unified way for all citizens who have served in Galicia, with more than 3,000 million health records linked to laboratory results (1,600 million), pharmaceutical prescriptions (1,000 million), clinical reports (360 million), vaccination records (20 million), and vital measures for telecare (5 million), among others.

Galicia joined the European Health Data Network in the first half of this year as a data provider. This anonymous network will allow the Galician public health system to collaborate more actively with the European scientific community, with greater participation in clinical research projects at European level.
